Privacy policy
What we collect, why, and what you can ask us to do about it.
Last reviewed 28 September 2026. Sureway Property is the data controller for the information described here.
What we collect
When you contact us. Our contact form asks for your name, your email address, optionally your
telephone number, and your message. We use these to answer your enquiry and for nothing else.
Sending the form is entirely voluntary.
When you visit. We measure how the site is used — which pages are read, roughly where visitors
come from, and whether they are on a phone or a computer. We do this ourselves rather than through
Google Analytics or any other third party, and it works without identifying you: your address and
browser are combined into a one-way code that changes every day, cannot be reversed, cannot be
matched to you tomorrow, and cannot be matched to you on any other website.
That is why this site shows you no cookie banner. There is nothing to consent to.
The one exception is a video. Films on this site are shown from YouTube or Vimeo, and nothing from
either loads until you press play. When you do, that service receives your address and browser
details and may set its own cookies, under its own privacy policy —
for Vimeo. The still picture shown before you press play is sent from our own server, not theirs.
When you ask about a room. The enquiry form asks for your name, your email address, optionally
your telephone number, which room you are interested in and your message. We use these to answer
you, to arrange a viewing, and — if you go ahead — to prepare your tenancy.
If you live with us. Residents have an account on this site. It holds your name, email address
and telephone number, the room you rent and the dates and rent of your tenancy, the emergency
contact you give us, and any repair you report — including photographs you attach and the messages
about it. We hold this because we need it to manage your tenancy and keep the building in repair;
it is part of our agreement with you. Only we can see it, and you can see your own.
Checking forms are sent by people. When you use a form, a service called Turnstile, run by
Cloudflare, checks that you are a person rather than a program. It looks at technical details of
your browser and connection to do so, not at what you type, and it sets no advertising cookies.
Cloudflare's privacy policy covers what it does.
Cookies
This site sets one cookie, and only if you sign in or put something in a basket: it remembers that
it is you, for that visit. It carries no advertising or tracking information. There are no analytics
cookies and no advertising cookies, and none from anybody else unless you choose to play a
video.
How long we keep it
Enquiries are kept for as long as we need them to deal with you, then deleted. A resident's
account and tenancy records are kept for the tenancy and for six years after it ends, which is how
long a claim about it can be brought; repair reports are kept with them. Visit statistics are kept in aggregate and contain nothing
identifying.
Who else sees it
Only the suppliers who help us run this site and this business: our hosting, our email, Google Fonts,
which sends the typefaces this site is set in and so receives your address when a page loads (it sets
no cookies),
Cloudflare for the form check described above. We do
not sell personal data, we do not share it for advertising, and we do not profile anybody.
Your rights
You can ask us for a copy of what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it, or
object to how we use it. Write to the address below and we will answer within one month. If you are
not happy with our answer you can complain to the
Information Commissioner's Office.
Changes to this page
If we change anything here we will update the date at the top.
